Like many Chicagoans I grew up watching Bill Kurtis (WBBM-TV/CBS) and Walter Jacobson (WFLD-TV/FOX).
However, before my time these two legendary newsmen dominated local news. Kurtis & Jacobson began their careers at WBBM-TV, Channel 2 in the 1960's. They left after a few years, but returned back in 1973 to anchor one of the country's most celebrated and emulated newscasts (so says its website) until 1989. Recently, Kurtis (who is best known for his shows on A&E and his role in the film Anchorman) returned to CBS 2 for weekly cold case reports. The two anchors were asked to reunite for one night only to fill-in for CBS 2's main anchor, Rob Johnson who took the day off. I'm a big fan of Bill & Walter and hope the duo can return to anchor the news on a more regular basis. Just a thought. Here's some videos you should check out:
