BREAKING NEWS: Federal Judge Dead, Congresswoman Shot
(TUCSON, Arizona) -- Sheriff Clarence W. Dupnik says Democrat-U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords was targeted. Giffords was shot in the head Saturday morning during a public event at a grocery store in Tucson, Arizona. Dupnik says the gunman used a semi-automatic pistol when he opened fire. Six people died in the shooting including a 9-year-old girl, Giffords' director of community outreach and Chief Judge John Roll of the U.S. District Court for Arizona. Suspect has been identified as Jared Lee Loughner, 22, who according to Dupnik has a history with police. During a press conference the sheriff told reporters "there is a second person of interest."
