A String of Bad Luck

Poor me! I started the first day of 2008 on a high note, but it slowly made a 90 degree turn for the worse.

First, my vehicle decides it doesn't want to start anymore and I'm left stranded with nowhere to go. Luckily, my roommate was home and saved me from walking home. He also saved me from getting it towed -- that man deserves a drink!

I learned a few days later from the 'traveling mechanic' that my car's electrical system needed some work. Originally, I thought it was my alternator or maybe even the battery, but I was wrong.

I was able to drive my car home and later to work. Three days later (Tuesday) it happened again and my roommate came to the rescue.

It's day 5 without my car, but I plan to take it in on Tuesday to have it worked on.

Secondly, on my bad luck trip: My roommate was taking me to work Wednesday, when I was hit with a bad case of the stomach flu. I went to work, but had someone drive me back home because I couldn't bare the pain. The next day, I called in sick again. The good news is the pain went away by Friday and I was able to get back to the office.

The bad news is I couldn't shake the fever, the cough and the sneezing. I'm almost over it now.

and finally on my bad luck trip, someone broke into my bank account and made an unauthorized transaction that caused me to have a lot of over-draft fees.

I froze my account so Carlos Correa from California wouldn't be able to take more money, but in the process I made things difficult for me because now I can't put money in or take money out.

My automatic bills can't get paid either. Well, not until Thursday. Grrrrr!

I keep telling myself things will get better and I hope they will.
